Eatin’ big time…
Over the weekend, Tyler Childers and his fellow Kentuckian Chris Stapleton headlined the incredible Healing Appalachia benefit concert in their home state of Kentucky, raising tons of money for a great cause, but Tyler also took time to give a few very lucky fans an experience they will remember for a lifetime.
Tyler of course released his the Rick Rubin produced album Snipe Hunter a couple months ago, and one of the easy standouts has been “Eatin’ Big Time,” a pretty simple song about Tyler being very rich and successful, but still being a country boy at heart. It has nothing to do with eating the rich or showing love to Beyonce… don’t be fooled by the internet conspiracies.
But he put his money where his mouth is, so to speak and also quite literally in terms of the lyrics, which several fans shared about following his events this past weekend. Tyler offered 10 fans the chance to win a private rehearsal viewing if they donated to Shriners Children’s of Lexington:
A fan named Laura gave an in-depth explanation of what went down, saying that she entered a contest to win tickets to some sort of private fan club event. When they showed up to a secret location, they were eventually taken to Rupp Arena in Lexington, Kentucky, and there were only 10 tickets given out, and each person could bring one guest, so there were only 20 people in total.
When they walked into the venue, they had no idea they were being treated to a full band, private Tyler Childers concert. After the show, he mingled with the fans, took photos, and then pulled out wads of cash from his pocket, and told them all to “go blow” the $1,000 on whatever they wanted.
In case you’re unfamiliar, the lyrics go as follows:
“Keep my time on my Weiss
Ye g****** right, I’m flexin’
‘Cause a thousand-dollar watch is fine enough flex for me
Have you ever got to hold and blow a thousand f****** dollars?
It runs for 40 hours, and then it winds itself to sleep”
I mean, who wouldn’t be thrilled to be handed $1,000 by Timmy Tyler himself just for showing up and being a fan? It’s too cool:
@lauralyynn I’ve run out of people I know personally to tell this to so I’m bringing it to tiktok #tylerchilders #snipehunter #childers #healingappalachia #hickmanhollerhuntingclub ♬ original sound – laura miller
Just incredibly generous and I’m sure made for an even more unforgettable evening that those fans will cherish forever.
Of course, I’ll leave you with this…
