The Ryder Cup is hoping that its attendees will be on their best behavior, far from the rowdy Waste Management crowd with alcohol prices like these.
The final practice rounds are underway, with just two days to go until the official start of the Ryder Cup. The tournament is held this year from September 26th to 28th, 2025, at Bethpage Black in Farmingdale, New York. The famed golf tournament is unlike any other, putting a spin on the individual sport, turning it into a team effort. The Ryder Cup features a team of 12 top European golfers competing against 12 of the best players from the United States in a three-day, match-play competition.
Golf fans are flocking to the tournament to watch their favorite PGA and LIV golfers, along with the famed celebrity golf tournament. The celebrity All-Star Matches teed off this morning, September 24th. Participants, including Miranda Lambert, Noah Kahan, Eli Manning, Bobby Flay, and Collin Jost, all hit the links and brought home a win for the USA.
However, fans attending the Ryder Cup hoping to embrace the party might want to reconsider their drinking habits after seeing these beer prices. I fear a pregame is in order because seeing the beer prices at this year’s Ryder Cup are stadium prices.
A 16 oz. Michelob Ultra will run you $15 a pop, and if you want a more premium beer, get ready to open your wallet because those will run you close to $20 a pop. Even if you opt not to drink, choosing a non-alcoholic beer product won’t save you much, as Michelob Ultra Zero still costs $12.
These are pretty steep prices considering day tickets for the Ryder Cup start at $269, including fees.
This is a jarring difference from one of the most prestigious PGA events, The Masters, which offers attendees beer and wine for just $6.
While I’m sure that many readers will agree that these are standard professional sports drink prices, which they are, and that if you can afford the ticket, you can afford these prices, it’s still ridiculous that we live in a world where a beer will run you close to $20.
I’m sure that there is an intention that these prices will keep attendees on their best behavior, but we all know that if people want to party at the Ryder Cup, they will find a way to do so.
