Seems like Posty is going to be around country music for a while.

Post Malone made his official entry into country last summer with his album F-1 Trillion, teaming up with superstars like Hank Williams Jr., Dolly Parton, Blake Shelton, Luke Combs, and of course Morgan Wallen. But unlike many of the other pop artists who have crossed over into country recently, it seems like Posty is here to stay.

There have been rumblings around Nashville recently that Posty was going to be the next artist to open a bar on Broadway in downtown Music City. And this week, just in time for CMA Fest, signage reading “We’ll Keep Ya Posted” went up on the new bar that seemed to confirm the suspicions:

Construction is still ongoing on the space, so unfortunately it doesn’t look like it will be open in time for CMA Fest this week, and no official announcement of the bar or Post Malone’s involvement has been made by TC Restaurant Group. But a source at the bar tells Whiskey Riff that the new venue will indeed be Posty’s bar, with a projected opening sometime in July.

The bar is located at 305 Broadway, in the same building that houses Jason Aldean’s and Luke Bryan’s bar, which are both owned by TC Restaurant Group. And it’s in the spot that was formerly occupied by Tequila Cowboy, another venue that was owned by the same hospitality company.

Tequila Cowboy, along with WannaB’s Karaoke, recently closed down with the promise of a new concept coming soon.

It’s not really a surprise that Post Malone wants to keep a presence in downtown Nashville. The rapper has long been a fan of country music, and long before he released his debut country album Posty could be spotted hopping up on stage at Tootsie’s or other bars around Nashville to sing Hank Williams or other country classics.

But the new bar isn’t the only country project Post has in the works.

During a private party ahead of his Coachella set, Post revealed that he’s still loving the Nashville community, and has already been making trips out there to work on country album number two:

“I’m pretty excited for the new record already. Made probably 35 songs; it’s just a matter of which one’s rock, and which one’s sock.”

Post says he’s been averaging putting out an “album a year,” and he finally felt like he was having fun again with his most recent album. So much so, that he’s attempting to “do it again,” which means you can probably expect it to be a relatively similar project:

“I said in an interview a while ago, ‘When I’m 30 years old, I’m gonna make a country record.’ And I made it at 29, so I wasn’t too far off. But you know, it just happened naturally. I was like, ‘F— it, let’s go to Nashville. Let’s give it a go.’

I think finally bringing the fun back into what I was doing really showed on the record. And I think a lot of folks had fun listening to it. And we’re going to attempt to do it again. I’m excited to keep going.”

Sounds like Posty is here in Nashville to stay – especially now that he has his own bar.The post Post Malone Is Opening A Bar On Broadway In Downtown Nashville This Summer first appeared on Whiskey Riff.
