Country Radio Has A New #1: Megan Moroney’s “6 Months Later” Claims The Top Spot

Another hit.
This weekend, Megan Moroney scored her third #1 hit at country radio as her song “6 Months Later” peaked at the top of the on the Mediabase chart, which is one of two charts labels use to officially track their songs performance, also including the Billboard Country Airplay chart.
This her third song to reach #1 at the format (along with “Tennessee Orange” and “Am I Okay?”) and it’s also the lead single to her forthcoming album Cloud 9, which is set for release on February 20th. “6 Months Later” climbed the charts very quickly after becoming Moroney’s highest-charting debuted of her career when it started off at at #30 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 chart (which encompasses all musical genres) in July of 2025.
Written by Moroney with Ben Williams, David “Messy” Mescon, and Rob Hatch, like many of her songs, “6 Months Later” focuses on heartbreak and how she’s coping in the wake of a breakup, and obviously I’m biased, but her lines in the bridge about how she only got stronger, blonder and hotter go so hard…
It’s total summer jam, which has an extremely catchy melody and all-too-relatable lyrics that finds her detailing how a relationship went sideways… though the guy keeps popping back up every now and then when she’s just about over it… classic.
Megan shared the news about it hitting the top of the charts, thanking country radio for helping her hit this milestone:
“Thank you country radio!”
It certainly leans into her pop sensibilities, and after hearing “Wish I Didn’t” last week, I’d say that’s probably a theme on this album, but we’ll see here pretty soon when it’s released next month.
THANK YOU COUNTRY RADIO!!!
