Arsenal fought back from two goals down to earn what would be a vital point against Premier League Champions Liverpool on Sunday afternoon.

The Gunners maintained their ‘unbeaten vs. the big six’ record, which looks set to be broken when Arsenal fell two goals behind. But a good fight back in the second half saw goals from Gabriel Martinelli and Mikel Merino.

Merino later got a second yellow card and gave Arsenal yet another game to contend with 10 players.

But Arsenal held firm and earned a point, meaning they need just 1 more point from the remaining two games to secure Champions League football next season. 4 more points would ensure they finish runners-up, an achievement valued more by some fans than others.

Here’s how I rated the players:

David Raya – 6

Ben White – 7

William Saliba – 6

Jakub Kiwior – 6

Myles Lewis-Skelly – 7

Mikel Merino – 6

Martin Odegaard – 8

Thomas Partey – 6

Gabriel Martinelli – 8

Bukayo Saka – 7

Leandro Trossard – 8

Men of the match: Martin Odegaard. This was a much better performance from our captain. Perhaps the most reassuring aspect is his ball-striking appears to be back on point. The second goal came from his great effort, and he was so unlucky not to score against PSG with another quality strike in the week. Long may this continue!
