According to Ornstein, Arsenal’s recruitment list is “vast”, with the club prioritising a new striker at the top of their summer agenda. The Gunners are being heavily linked with names like Benjamin Šeško and Viktor Gyokeres, and the expectation is that a significant signing will arrive to boost firepower for the 2025 title charge.
In addition, Ornstein confirmed that long-term midfield target Martin Zubimendi is set to join the club. The Spanish international would provide technical control and positional discipline in the middle of the park – a perfect complement to Declan Rice and Martin Ødegaard. Interestingly, this doesn’t seem to spell the end for Thomas Partey, with the club reportedly keen to keep the Ghanaian and add Zubimendi on top of that, with Jorginho leaving on a free to join Flamengo.
Defensive reinforcements are also on the radar. Arsenal are said to be tracking Dean Huijsen, the promising young centre-back who has impressed during his time at Bournemouth. However, competition is fierce, and the Gunners will need to move quickly if they want to secure his signature. Read more on the Dean Huijsen pursuit here.
Goalkeeper is another area Arsenal are looking to strengthen. While David Raya is set to stay as No.1, the club wants to bring in serious competition to raise standards – Joan Garcia appears the most likely arrival in that department.
@FabrizioRomano echoed the sentiment in a recent update: “It’s going to be a very huge & important summer at Arsenal. A new striker, of course, we know about that, but I’m told that Arsenal will also bring in a new winger for sure, that’s the intention. They are also looking at defenders & more.”
That new winger could add vital attacking depth and variability, especially with the futures of players like Reiss Nelson and Leandro Trossard uncertain. Names like Xavi Simons, Anthony Gordon and Nico Williams have been floated.
Arsenal are clearly preparing for a busy and aggressive summer window. With multiple signings expected across key positions, this could be the most transformative transfer period yet under Arteta, with new Technical Director Andrea Berta alongside him.
