Black metal outfit Necrofier is the latest addition to the long list of bands signed with Metal Blade Records and they’ve got a new album coming out to make their addition to the label an immediately meaningful one.
Set for release on February 27, Transcend Into Oblivion seeks to continue the band’s vision of mixing “spicy Texan intensity to the icy atmospheres of mid-’90s Norway” through a dozen new tracks. With the completed and ready for release in the very near future, Necrofier frontman Bakka said it stands as a testament to the band’s push for authenticity and unwavering drive.
“This album really ended up where I always wanted us to go. It also had me digging deeper into the journey, into myself and basically everything to get it here. I felt the way the record makes you sound. Sometimes surrounded in chaos and sometimes in moments of accession. I really like what we did on the previous album, but it doesn’t compare to what we have accomplished on the new one.”
To mark today’s exciting news, the band dropped the album’s first single, “Servants Of Darkness, Guide My Way I”. Written as the first part of a three-part suite within the album, Bakka explained that the track in question opens the doors to some dark shit within the record.
“The torment and struggle that comes along with awakening. The descent into darkness to be reborn. Where at first you thought everything was done, now you learn that these trials are what help shape you while they drive you mad.”
Transcend Into Oblivion will be released on February 27 via Metal Blade Records, but you can preorder your copy today.
