Dropping this Friday.
Morgan Wallen had quite an eventful weekend, and a rocky start to his shows in Arizona, but in the midst of all of that, he announced that a remixed version of his song “Miami,” from his recent I’m The Problem album, which will feature Lil Wayne and Rick Ross.

The song initially received quite a bit of criticism from fans due to the fact that it interpolated Keith Whitley’s classic, and it still has some of the lowest streaming numbers out of all 37 songs on the record. I personally wasn’t a fan of it, but I do love Lil Wayne, so maybe that will somehow redeem it a little bit? I’m not exactly sure how if it’s remotely similar to what it sounds like now, but we’ll see…
On Theo Von’s podcast a few months ago, Morgan said they mulled over the idea of a rap feature on it, and ultimately they opted to go solo and just position it for a remix to come in the future, which we now know will feature the aforementioned Lil Wayne and Rick Ross:
“I got a song on my record called ‘Miami.’ It’s a Keith Whitley flip… that’s one of his bigger songs, I guess. But we flipped it and turned it into more of a rap style. But it’s cool, I like it.
It seemed like it could use rapper on there, but I didn’t end up using a feature, we ended up just making a second verse. But it’s one of those songs that it wouldn’t be surprising if we got a remix and did that once it’s out.”
And while performing in Miami a couple weekends ago, Morgan treated fans to a little teaser of the “Miami” remix, which you can listen to here:
Obviously, the fans who love Morgan will probably be open to this, and his haters will rake him over the coals like they did when “Miami” first came out. But considering how big Morgan’s star is right now, it’s pretty interesting to see legends like Lil Wayne come over to country and get in on what’s going on in the genre considering its current popularity.
With three such huge, recognizable names, it’s likely this will be a huge hit, regardless of how “good” it actually is, and it will be certainly remixed to hear how they remixed and changed what was pretty much a disaster of a song to begin with.
Just listen at your own risk…
