Miranda Lambert continues to be an advocate for supporting rescue animals.
As you already know, the state of Texas – specifically the South-Central area – was devastated by flooding early in July. Texans are still picking up the pieces from the natural disaster, even though you might not see much about it anymore in the news cycle. Unfortunately, that’s how the news works… give attention to the disaster, then move on to the next one.
The good news is that while the media may have forgotten about the devastation and destruction in Texas, country music artists refuse to let up. It’s truly been inspiring to see some of the biggest names in country music band together to give back to the Lone Star State in this trying time.
Several benefit concerts organized by Texas-born artists have already taken place, like Josh Weathers’ benefit concert that raised over $400,000 less than 48 hours after the disaster happened, or George Strait’s “Strait To The Heart” benefit concert, which helped raise over $6.5 million for flood relief.
Miranda Lambert is helping out in multiple ways with flood relief. Not only is she participating in a benefit concert (more on that in a bit) but she’s also donating over $300,000 to over 20 animal shelters and supporting organizations through the MuttNation-Tractor Supply Relief for Rescues Fund.
The country music star was thrilled that she could help with something that’s so close to her heart, in her home state of all places:
“Texas is my home state and the tragedy that took so many lives – and forever changed so many others – left me without words to express my heartbreak. All I knew was that I wanted to help. I’m grateful that our MuttNation-Tractor Supply Relief For Rescues Fund could quickly jump into action.
We started the Fund so we could immediately respond to the needs of animal shelters and rescues after a natural disaster, and it’s always incredible to see it in action during times like this. A huge thank you to everyone who has donated to make that possible.”
And obviously, the donation couldn’t have been possible without the coordination from the Tractor Supply Company. Kimberley Gardiner, the Senior Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer at Tractor Supply, shared this in the same press release that Miranda Lambert’s statement came from:
“At Tractor Supply, we were heartbroken by the recent floods and the devastating aftermath for these communities. These funds are more than financial support – they’re a lifeline to animals and the people working tirelessly to care for them. We’re committed to helping these organizations continue their mission of care, rescue, and compassion when it’s needed most.”
There’s no doubt that the money donated by the MuttNation-Tractor Supply Relief for Rescues Fund will go to help the Texas community (and other places) with something that not a lot of people think about when disaster hits.
As if that wasn’t enough, Miranda Lambert is also teaming up with fellow Texas native Parker McCollum for a benefit show called Band Together Texas. The star-studded benefit concert is slated to take place on Sunday, August 17th at the Moody Center in Austin, and it will be directly benefiting The Community Foundation of the Texas Hill Country – the leading charity behind the ongoing flood relief efforts – and the Central Texas Community Foundation.
In addition to Lambert and McCollum, the show will feature the Lone Star State’s best talent like Ryan Bingham, Wade Bowen, Kelly Clarkson, Ronnie Dunn, Dylan Gossett, Jack Ingram, Cody Johnson, Lyle Lovett, Lukas Nelson, Jon Randall and Randy Rogers Band.
Safe to say that Miranda Lambert is doing her part to help out her home state. The post Miranda Lambert’s MuttNation-Tractor Supply Relief For Rescues Fund Donates Over $300,000 To Flood Recovery Efforts In Texas, New Mexico & Jersey first appeared on Whiskey Riff.
