Megadeth to Host Pricey ‘Let There Be Shred’ Listening Event Ahead of the New Album
Hope you got a crisp grand lying around. The post Megadeth to Host Pricey ‘Let There Be Shred’ Listening Event Ahead of the New Album appeared first on MetalSucks.
The end is nigh for Megadeth. We’ve known that for a while now. But with the final album coming out next month and their tour plans stretching over the next few years, there are eventually going to be fewer and fewer times to interact with Megadeth in person. That’s why the newly announced “immersive listening event” in La Vergne, Tennesee called ‘Let There Be Shred’ is an event most Megadeth fans are going to want to attend next month.
Set to take place on Saturday, January 17, the day-long event will see fans getting to hear the music, the stories, and learn more about the band than ever before. The whole band will be there — Dave Mustaine, Teemu Mäntysaari, James LoMenzo, and Dirk Verbeuren — offering not just an acoustic performance, but also a “Master Class”, a Gibson guitar talk, in-person band Q&A, and more. It even includes a catered dinner and “immersive photo-op experiences.”
There’s so much included in the all-day event, surely there’s gotta be a catch. And boy howdy, is there ever a catch. You see, not only do you have to haul your carcass to the Nashville suburbs, but you’re also going to have to shell out a pretty penny in order to attend. How much, you ask? How does the crisp price of $950 sound to you?
I know some people have more money than sense, but holy shit that’s a lot of money for a roughly 10 hour event for fans 18 and up. Almost a cool grand for a single ticket is banana pancakes, really. Sure, it sounds like you’ll get to be up close and personal with Megadeth, but in this economy?! Wild.
Well, if you’d like to find out more or to attend the event, you can head over to the event page and pay that ridiculous ticket price. You do you.
