Bon Jovi is reimagining some of its most legendary tracks with a stellar list of featured artists. In 2024, Bon Jovi released their 16th studio record, Forever, following their 2020 album, 2020. The 14-track record was the first time the band recorded an album in the studio together as a seven-piece band, working with longtime producer John Shanks.
When the lead single for Forever, “Legendary,” was released, Bon Jovi felt like this album was a chance for them to continue to make waves, sharing with Loudwire’s Chuck Armstrong, reflecting on their 40 years of creating some of the world’s most iconic rock songs.
“I just feel that there’s an opportunity for me to leave a legacy that was there to do some good and maybe just cause a little ripple in the sea. (Bon Jovi) is just one little thread in the patchwork of American pop culture.”
Now, Bon Jovi is making sure that they leave their mark on American pop culture by bringing in a stellar group of artists to help them reimagine the tracks of Forever, with a new project, Forever (Legendary Edition). Bon Jovi announced the record at the end of August, with two tracks, “Red, White & Jersey” and “Hollow Man,” featuring Bruce Springsteen, already being released.
But according to Bon Jovi’s website, Springsteen is not the only famous face featured on the project. The album features an array of artists, and Bon Jovi called on quite a few country artists to help him bring the record to life.
“After the release of Bon Jovi’s acclaimed 2024 album ‘Forever’, the band reimagined every song on the album with an array of some of the world’s most revered and innovative artists who are also friends of the band. ‘Forever (Legendary Edition)’ includes one brand new track (Red, White and Jersey) and 13 fresh takes on songs from the Forever album featuring artists like Bruce Springsteen, Lainey Wilson, Jelly Roll, Jason Isbell. Hear Forever in a whole new way, releasing October 24, 2025.”
The tracklist also includes features from The War & Treaty, Marcus King, Avril Lavigne, James Bay, and more.
Lainey Wilson and Marcus King were flawless pulls for this project as they’ve covered Bon Jovi’s tunes in the past. At the start of the year, Wilson highlighted some of her rock and roll influence by covering “Livin’ On A Prayer” during CRS.

And Marcus King, who undoubtedly dabbles between the lines of southern rock and blues, has shown off his admiration for Bon Jovi, delivering a stellar snippet of “Wanted Dead Or Alive.” During last year’s Grammy Week, Bon Jovi was honored as Person Of The Year at the MusiCares event. While on the red carpet, Marcus King, who was performing as part of the event, sang a lick of “Wanted Dead Or Alive” on the red carpet, noting how much he loved the song.
“An iconic song by an iconic man.”
After the few lines he sang on the red carpet gained traction online, King took to social media to share a longer acoustic performance of the tune.
@marcusking Replying to @Jared Frensley Shoutout to the legend @Bon Jovi for this banger! Sure hope y’all are singin’ along at home #deadoralive #bonjovi ♬ original sound – Marcus King
While these are not the songs that King and Wilson will be featured on for this record, their history covering some of the group’s famed hits shows that this is a high honor to work with Bon Jovi. I can’t wait to hear this record in full, just like the lead single from Forever, it sounds “Legendary.”
