If you’re not listening to Laci Kaye Booth… you need to change that. The Texas bombshell does it again with her latest single, “Luck Of The Draw.”

Laci Kaye Booth, from Livingston, Texas, has been making a name for herself in Nashville for years. She had success with her song “Shuffle” from her 2021 self-titled record several years ago. It was her 2024 record, The Loneliest Girl In The World, that really showed off her impressive writing chops and incredibly unique voice.

In 2025, Booth continued her hot streak with the release of her first single of the year, “Daddy’s Mugshot,” which was inspired by discovering her dad’s mugshot on Facebook. Booth performed the tune during her Grand Ole Opry debut, joking that his parole officer wouldn’t let him come to his debut.

“I wrote this song called ‘Daddy’s Mugshot’ after I was scrolling on Facebook and I saw my dad’s mugshot going around. And I didn’t know he got arrested. He was grinning from ear to ear. He would be here tonight, but his probation officer wouldn’t let him come, so… Dad, I love you so much, if you’re watching this right now.”

The hypnotizing tune of trying to break her family’s curse to “make it” Nashville embodies wanting to win big with a smash hit, but not letting go of your roots and doing things your way.

Following that up, Booth shocked some country fans with her cheeky tune “George F***ing Strait,” which tips her hat to the King. The song about George Strait is universally relatable, and I’m shocked no one has put out a song like this sooner. Somehow, at 73 years old, he continues to get better with age, like a fine wine.

If you were offended by “George F***ing Strait,” her latest single, “Luck Of The Draw,” is much less offensive.

Booth recently dropped a brand-new track that fans had been begging for after she first teased it on social media. The nostalgic tune highlights the importance of making the best out of what you’re given.

“‘Luck of the Draw’ is about growing up in the chaos, finding beauty in the wreckage, and owning the hand you’re dealt.”

Penned by Booth, Ben West, and Ryman Wooten, the verses highlight the things going wrong in life, painting a picture of the chaos unfolding in life.

“Growing up at my own pace
Another lonesome southern state
Daddy’s drunk and mom’s awake
Waiting by the door
I’m doing good, I’m getting by
Glad you asked and that’s a lie
It gets so hot in late July
Can’t take it anymore…”

During the chorus, it feels as though Booth is pleading with the universe to bring her some good news, as she admits that the hardships she’s facing are making her lose her faith. But instead of thinking about it in that light, she shifts her perspective, knowing that one day she will have a hand of cards that is in her favor, but until then, she will blame it on the luck of the draw.

“Benny’s doing drugs and the rent got higher
Everybody’s dying and the sky is on fire
Who messed it up, who the hell’s holding the cards
Losing my faith, is nothing sacred
I ain’t being bitter baby I’m just saying
You could blame me or blame it on the luck of the draw
I’ll blame it on the luck of the draw…”

Miss Laci Kaye Booth does not miss. “Luck Of The Draw” is a must listen.
