I’m sure she doesn’t even begin to compare, by her inward or outward beauty.

Of course, Dolly Parton famously penned “Jolene” after a woman at her local bank was getting a little too flirty with her husband Carl Dean, not long after Carl and Dolly got married, though her real name wasn’t actually Jolene.

Dolly took mercy and renamed her for the song, and honestly, it’s probably a good thing that she did, because it’s one of the most recognizable country songs of all time and is of course synonyms with that name. It was included as the title track to Dolly’s 1974 album of the same name, and peaked at #1 on the U.S. Billboard Country songs chart as a single.

And X, a tweet with a photo of Dolly in her younger years, around the year 1972, went viral, and she looks absolutely stunning. It’s one of my favorites photos of her, and I think perfectly captures her unparalleled beauty both inside and out.

She was, and still is, breathtakingly beautiful, and people in the comments had a field day talking about how there was no way on this earth Dolly was really threatened by Jolene when she looked like this.

I don’t know if we’ll ever find out who “Jolene” really is, or what she looked like aside from what Dolly tells us in the song like her “emerald green” eyes and “flaming locks of auburn hair,” but I just don’t see how she, or anyone else, could ever compete with Dolly, especially during her 20’s and 30’s.

She’s remained one the most beautiful women in the world for decades, and not long ago, Dolly said she had seen the woman who was the real-life Jolene and she did NOT age well, which doesn’t surprise me considering she seemingly had a not-so-nice personality, well… at least back in the day:
