A new chapter of his music career.
After five years signed to a major record label, Wyoming native Ian Munsick has decided that it’s time for a change.
Munsick has decided to part ways with Warner Music Nashville and will continue his career independently.
In a recent social media post, Munsick shared the news with fans, penning:
“I moved to Nashville 13 years ago, fresh from the prairies of Wyoming, in pursuit of making music my career. I’m incredibly grateful for the life music has given not just me, but also my wife (and manager) and our soon-to-be family of four. I signed with my record label, Warner Music Nashville, in 2020 and released three full albums in that partnership. I’m thankful for all we learned and accomplished together; however, the time has come for me to fly free.
It is with optimism and gratitude that I have decided to part ways and roam independently. To all the fans: your confidence in me has given me confidence in myself. Thank you, and here’s to greener pastures!”
While signed to Warner Music Nashville, Ian Munsick found great success. He’s toured with huge names like Lainey Wilson, Morgan Wallen, Cody Johnson, and more. Munsick also recently earned the honor of being the first Wyoming native to headline Cheyenne Frontier Days.
Outside of his success on the road, Munsick’s streaming numbers are ones that some artists only dream of. His duet with Cody Johnson, “Long Live Cowgirls,” has earned over 85 million streams and was recently named one of Amazon Music’s Best Country Songs of 2022. The single earned Munsick an RIAA Gold certification, which is the third song that Munsick has produced earning that honor. The other two songs that stand alongside “Long Live Cowgirls” are “Long Haul” and “Horses Are Faster.”
Overall, Munsick has a great run with Warner Music Nashville and gifted fans with “Coyote Cry,” “White Buffalo,” and, most recently, “Eagle Feather” while on the label.
While I am sure this chapter comes with some nerves about going independent, it will allow Munsick to have complete control over his music and sound, which should outweigh the nerves with excitement.
Here’s to the next chapter, we can’t wait to see what’s in store. Before you go, fire up a few of my personal Ian Munsick tunes.
“God Bless The West”
“Barn Burner”
“Come Home To You”
