The “C” in Chris Young stands for charitable.

Young has been on a roll as of late when it comes random acts of kindness. The country star behind hits like “Who I Am With You” and “Gettin’ You Home” has evidently been in the giving mood as of late. Just last month, Young got word that a fellow musicians guitar had been destroyed during a United Airlines flight, and the country singer stepped in and bought a nice, new Gibson as a replacement.

And now in June, Chris Young has once again shown his giving side. The “Tomorrow” singer has recently been in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina for the Carolina Country Music Festival. The event runs from June 5-8 (same week/weekend as Nashville’s CMA Fest) and features some of country music’s biggest names, like Lainey Wilson, Jelly Roll, Kid Rock and obviously Chris Young.

Young played on the festival’s main stage last night, just before Lainey Wilson was set to perform. And prior to his arrival on the main stage, he stopped in for a bite to eat and drink at the 8th Avenue Tiki Bar and Grill in Myrtle Beach. The country music star apparently ran up a $200 tab, then proceeded to leave a $2,000 tip on top of that.

For those not that great at math, that’s a 1,000% tip.

Shawn Conklin, a bartender at the popular eatery that Chris Young trusted for his pre-concert meal and drinks, told The Sun News that the country star’s generosity delivered a boost to the restaurant and those who were working behind the bar that night:

“It was a pleasant surprise. It kind of made the night.”

Conklin was not one of the bartenders that served Young, but there were apparently three workers that did that decided to split the sizable tip three ways. Those that had a bar shift during the busy weekend were undoubtedly rewarded when Chris Young hit them up before his main stage show.

It ended up being a momentous occasion for the 8th Avenue Tiki Bar & Grill. Some staff took a second to snap a photo with the country music star, and the picture was later posted to the restaurant’s social media page with this message:

“When a country legend walks into your tiki bar… you pour the good stuff. Thanks for swinging by Chris Young!”

Love to see it.

And this is not the first time we’ve seen a country star stop by a restaurant and… let’s just say leave it better than how they found it. Earlier this year, Post Malone went viral for leaving a $2,000 tip in New Orleans (there was a little snafu with the tip getting to the server, but that was later settled).

Then you’ve got artists like Zach Bryan gifting a $3,000 tip to hard working waitress, and Jelly Roll, who bought over $11,000 worth of chicken for whoever wanted it, and then left a $7,500 tip on top of it. With Chris Young being the latest entrant to the large tipping trend, it’s cool to see all of these high-profile artists realizing the change they can make with their platforms.

A couple hundred (or thousand) dollars might not be a lot to them, but that kind of money can undoubtedly change a restaurant worker’s life. The post Country Singer, Chris Young, Leaves $2,000 Tip At Myrtle Beach Bar first appeared on Whiskey Riff.
