Corrosion of Conformity’s Heading Into “Mix Mode” for Their Next Album

We keep getting closer and closer to finally getting some new Corrosion of Conformity. As the days press on and work is done in the studio, the stoner/Southern/sludge metal band will finally unveil their long-awaited follow up to 2018’s No Cross, No Crown. And I, for one, am crazy hyped for it.

In a post made on the band’s official Facebook page, a photo of various guitars in the studio was posted with a comment that things were “gettin close, folks!!”

“Spending a few days tightening up a couple riffs and solos on the New Album then it’s straight into mix mode. Gettin close folks!!”

CoC has been working on the guitar portion of the album for a while now. Some of the guitar work was recorded at a private Miami studio owned by the Bee Gees’ Barry Gibb.

It really feels like we’re on the cusp of a big NOLA sludge metal resurgence, as COC and Down prepare to release new music. Then you’ve got Kirk Windstein saying he and the rest of Crowbar are chomping at the bit to get working on new material, while he also works with Sun Dont Shine to put out a record of their own. We could soon be sitting on a veritable smorgasbord of badass tunes.
