Clay Street Unit Teams Up With Lindsay Lou On New Love Song “Choctaw County”

The Clay Street Unit boys are back with another single, and it’s one of their best yet.

Teaming up with Lindsay Lou, one of the most soulful vocalists in the jamgrass scene and another artist everyone should know, the Denver, CO based six-piece jamgrass and country outfit continues to impress with each release. And their latest endeavor is far from an exception.

A duet in which CSU frontman Sam Walker and Lindsay Lou trade verses before showing off their killer harmonies in the chorus, “Choctaw County” finds two characters reminiscing on a long lost love they once experienced in Walker’s home state of Alabama. Or in Choctaw County, more specifically, where Walker, who penned the track alongside mandolinist Scottie Bolin, sets the scene for the story with vivid imagery describing the rural landscape on the Alabama-Mississippi line.

Still in their nascent stages as a band, relatively speaking, Clay Street Unit formed in 2021 and only had five songs in their catalog prior to this year, including a cover of The Last Revel’s criminally underrated track “Engine Trouble.”

Setting out to expand their catalog this year, “Choctaw County” marks the third single Clay Street Unit has released since March, following “Let’s Get Stoned” and “Where Have You Gone?” earlier this year.

The band has been on a heater of late with the last few singles. And I’d have to imagine there is plenty more where that came from, and maybe even a larger project in the works, so keep your eyes and ears peeled for more new stuff from these guys.

In the meantime, make sure to check out their tour dates, because Clay Street Unit sounds even better live. Despite the lack of music they have released thus far, there is a major buzz surrounding their name at the moment, and that is in large part due to their heavy touring schedule and their awesome show. I’ve seen these guys take the stage a few times now, and can attest first hand that they get even better each and every time. If they’re coming through your town, it is absolutely a show you cannot miss.
