The Rip & Beth Yellowstone Spinoff Is Officially Alive: Cameras Are Rolling Again In New Filming Update For ‘The Dutton Ranch’

Yellowstone fans out there can stop holding their breath.

It’s been a while since we’ve heard anything about the highly anticipated Beth Dutton and Rip Wheeler-focused spinoff: The Dutton Ranch. Back in October of 2025, there was an announcement about the series regulars being rounded out. That’s the last time that anything substantial came out about the series, which had some fans worried that there was some sort of delay.

After all, Dutton Ranch was originally supposed to air in late 2025. It was eventually pushed back to an “Early 2026” release, but there’s still no official word on when viewers will be able to see Kelly Reilly and Cole Hauser reprise their roles and return to our television screens again.

Fortunately, this latest update makes it seem as though things are moving along with the show, though I’m starting to question if that “Early 2026” release will come to fruition.

That’s because The Dutton Ranch is still in production, as Collider reports that cameras are currently rolling in and around Fort Worth on both the Yellowstone spinoff and one of Sheridan’s other hit shows: Lioness. There have apparently been casting notices calling for extras in scenes that are being shot this week. So in other words, The Dutton Ranch is still working on getting some scenes put together after beginning the filming process back in August of last year.

All in all, a great update on the show… but like I said, an “Early 2026” premiere is looking more like a “Early Summer 2026” release to me (for reference, Landman Season 2 wrapped filming in August of 2025 and premiered two months later in December).

If you are wondering who else will appear in the series other than Reilly’s Beth Dutton and Hauser’s Rip Wheeler, we already know that at least one actor from Yellowstone will be joining The Dutton RanchDeadline reported back in July that Finn Little would be returning to play his character Carter in the series.

Judging by the show’s official synopsis, the relationship between Beth, Rip and Carter will be critical to the storyline of the series:

“Beth Dutton (Reilly) and Rip Wheeler (Hauser) are grateful for the peace they sought, fought, and nearly died for with their 7,000-acre Dutton Ranch. With tough times and stiff competition, Beth and Rip do what they must to survive, all while ensuring Carter (Little) becomes the man he’s supposed to be.”

As for the rest of the cast, A-list actress Annette Bening will be joining the Yellowstone universe, and she’ll be playing a powerful owner of a major Texas ranch named Beulah Jackson. There will also be the addition of Jai Courtney, an Australian actor (known for his roles in The Suicide Squad and The Terminal List) that will be playing an “unpredictable ranch foreman” whose name is “Rob-Will.”

Four other series regulars have been confirmed to join the spinoff show. Actors and actresses Natalie Alyn Lind, Marc Menchaca, Juan Pablo Raba, and JR Villarreal have all signed on to be series regulars, and each are expected to play an important role in The Dutton Ranch story. They’ll also join Ed Harris and Annette Bening in bringing the drama of Yellowstone and the Dutton family back to TV.The post The Rip & Beth Yellowstone Spinoff Is Officially Alive: Cameras Are Rolling Again In New Filming Update For ‘The Dutton Ranch’ first appeared on Whiskey Riff.
