Speaking afterwards, Pedro said: “I was following the action, I was running to try to catch the ball. When I looked ahead, Martinelli was there. “We collided there, and I received a blow to the stomach. I felt a little bad, but I was calm afterwards.” On playing for Brazil, the new Blues star added: “I’m very happy to play good football for Chelsea and to be back with the Brazilian national team. “I think every boy’s dream is to be here, and today I was able to start playing. I only missed a goal, which is partly due to that. But in the end, what matters is the victory.” Pedro and Estavao are shining for both club and countryAFP Pedro’s fast start Chelsea fans will be relieved to hear there were no serious repercussions to the collision between Pedro and Martinelli. The £60million star has made an excellent start to life at Stamford Bridge, starring immediately in the club’s triumphant Club World Cup run. Pedro already has two goals and two assists in three Premier League games since his move from Brighton. In more positive news for Blues fans, Cole Palmer hinted he will be back in action straight after the international break. Pedro deputised in a deeper No.10 role for the victories over West Ham and Fulham due to Palmer’s groin injury – which kept the Chelsea talisman out of the England squad. However, taking to Instagram on Thursday night, Palmer shared a post which simply read: “Soon back.” Pedro responded by commenting with a blue heart emoji.
