Carter Faith Scores First Acting Role In Upcoming Netflix Thriller, ‘Heartland’

Taking her charm to the big screen.

Carter Faith is the next rising star in country music, and her latest project reveals that she’s a woman of many talents. The North Carolina native has been spoken about by one of country music’s current “it girls,” Ella Langley, when she revealed that she felt like the “Grudge” singer would have a massive year at the Academy of Country Music Awards.

“I think that Carter Faith is going to have a massive (year)… She’s so creative, and she’s just right. She’s just one song away. I feel like she’s exactly where I was. I felt like I was one song away, and I really was just one song away.

I think Carter is somebody who’s going to be around for a long time.”

Langley’s thoughts have run true since the awards show, with Faith making big moves in the country space. The recently named Music Row Awards Discovery Artist of the Year has kept her nose to the grindstone, and the work is paying off. Recently, Faith collaborated with the famed actor Billy Bob Thornton for her “Bar Star” music video, which was the perfect collaboration after she performed her tune “Billy Bob Thornton” in front of him, a song the Landman star inspired.

Perhaps this collaboration was more than just a fun collaboration with one of her idols, but was hinting at her next career move as well. It was recently reported via Deadline that Faith will star in an upcoming Netflix film titled Heartland.

The country thriller will star Carter Faith, Jessica Chastain, and John Hawkes.

Directed by and co-written by Shana Feste, the plot highlights the story of Misty Jones (played by Chastain), a former country heavy hitter who comes out of retirement to investigate the disappearance of her niece, who follows in her aunt’s footsteps and was chasing a country music career. Carter Faith will play the rising star niece. As the search deepens, Misty Jones is drawn into the dark secrets of Nashville and is forced to address old wounds. At the time of writing, the role John Hawkes holds remains under wraps.

Heartland is scheduled for a two-month shoot starting at the end of September in Atlanta, Georgia, and Nashville, Tennessee.

I can’t wait to see this film on my screen. Faith is a very theatrical person, and I am sure that she will crush this role. Given that Faith is a rising country star herself, it feels like this role was meant for her (but hopefully without the real-life parallel that she goes missing).

Many other female country powerhouses have ventured into acting, like Lainey Wilson, and so this feels like a powerful move for Faith and proves that she’s a woman of many talents who is here to stay.

Carter Faith is about to have a lot of buzz around her name with her highly anticipated record, Cherry Valley, which is less than a month away from its release date. Cherry Valley will be out everywhere on October 3rd.
