A Metropolitan Police spokesperson said: “A 16-year-old boy remains in police custody after he was arrested on suspicion of possession of an imitation firearm. “The arrest occurred in Fulham Broadway at 14:41hrs on Saturday, 30 August after officers received information about a boy displaying a weapon and walking towards a crowded area. “No one was injured in the incident.” The Met Police are continuing their investigations amid early suggestions the boy was on his way to a comic book convention in Hammersmith. It is an offence to carry an imitation firearm and the weapon is thought to have looked realistic, causing alarm to passers-by. The London Anime and Gaming Con is currently being held this weekend. It is the biggest anime convention in the United Kingdom. The incident occurred as fans were leaving Stamford Bridge following Chelsea’s 2-0 win over Fulham. So that always requires a long time.” It has led to Chelsea attempting to cancel Nicolas Jackson’s loan move to Bayern Munich, with the striker already in Germany to undergo his medical.
