Hittin’ the road.
Known for years as one of the most underrated artists not just in the bluegrass scene but in music in general, it seems as if Billy Strings has finally gotten the recognition he most certainly deserves. Along with collaborations with Luke Combs, Dierks Bentley, Willie Nelson, Post Malone and Zach Top over the past five years, the “Dust in a Baggie” singer broke out in a big way commercially in 2024 with the release of Highway Prayers.
Not only did the record top seven different Billboard charts, including Top Album Sales, Vinyl Albums, Bluegrass Albums and Most Added at Triple A Radio (“Gild the Lily”), it also became the first bluegrass album in 22 years to reach #1 on the all-genre Top Album Sales chart since the O Brother Where Art Though? soundtrack topped the chart for two weeks back in 2002.
With all that being said, Strings is undoubtedly the artist in the bluegrass scene right now. It should go without saying that his world class guitar skills is nothing short of generational, but when you couple it with his underrated songwriting and incredible live performances, you have a once-in-a-lifetime artist flying out of a historically underappreciated genre such as bluegrass.
Though he has plenty of tour dates scheduled throughout the remainder of 2025, the Michigan native has already set his sights on next year. Minutes ago, Strings announced a limited run of shows in February as a part of his Winter Tour 2026.
As mentioned, Winter Tour 2026 is fairly limited with only 10 shows across four cities throughout the month of February. With that being said, however, Strings is packing a lot of shows into the small frame. Not only is he playing four shows in five nights in Asheville, North Carolina, the “Seven Weeks In County” singer is also playing three straight nights in Nashville from the 20th through 22nd. Notably, Strings will play back-to-back nights at the Bridgestone Arena before playing an exclusive show at the Ryman Auditorium to wrap the tour up. In a unique move, the Ryman show will only be available for fans who purchased a ticket to either Bridgestone concert.
Signups for presale access are live now with artist presale beginning on Wednesday, September 17, at 10 a.m. local. Public on-sale will go live on Friday, September 19, at 10 a.m. local time. It should also be noted that the Ryman show on February 22 is only available for those who purchased a ticket to either one of Strings’ Bridgestone Arena shows on February 20-21, being distributed exclusively via FAIR AXS.
“Face-melting” is often the term associated with String’s live performances, and it has continued to ring true. If he’s in your city, you won’t want to miss one of the greatest bluegrass pickers of our generation.
