Swifties Are Convinced That Taylor Swift Made A Cameo In ‘Happy Gilmore 2’ – And Netflix May Have Confirmed It

There were plenty of celebrity cameos in Happy Gilmore 2.

If you haven’t watched the highly-anticipated sequel to the 1996 Adam Sandler classic yet, which dropped last week, well it seems like you’re in the minority of people who haven’t seen it yet, and also you’re missing out on a pretty funny movie.

There’s been a lot of opinions on the movie, ranging from people who loved it to people who called it the worst movie they had ever seen.

And sure, it’s not exactly a Best Picture candidate or anything, but I don’t think it was supposed to be. It was a silly, nostalgic sequel to a classic movie that paid tribute to the original while also managing to stand on its own, even if the plot was a little ridiculous. (I mean, are people forgetting that the plot to the original was pretty ridiculous too?)

Overall I was a fan of the movie, and it’s probably one that I’ll watch again.

But one thing that you immediately notice when checking out the new flick is just how many celebrity cameos there are in the Netflix production.

The movie includes cameos from a who’s who of not only Hollywood, but also the sports and music worlds, with names like John Daly, Eminem, Bad Bunny, Dan Patrick, Paige Spiranac, Bubba Watson, Bryson DeChambeau, Scottie Scheffler (who had maybe the best line in the entire movie…), Post Malone, Verne Lundquist, Guy Fieri, Reggie Bush, Kelsey Plum, and many, many more.

But of course the most talked-about cameo was from Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce.

(There will be some minor spoilers here, but if you’re really worried about me spoiling Happy Gilmore 2, I can assure you it’s not that serious).

Kelce, who is of course the boyfriend of pop superstar Taylor Swift, plays a waiter who is forced to fire his bumbling busboy played by Bad Bunny. And later on in the movie, Bad Bunny fantasizes about tying Kelce to a pole and greasing him down with honey as a bear attacks him.

Like I said, it’s not that serious, and it’s not winning any Best Picture Awards, but it’s funny.

Netflix recently posted a behind the scenes video of that scene on their Instagram account, and Swifties, as they often do, immediately began speculating that Swift herself had a cameo in the movie and was inside the bear costume that attacked Kelce.

“Taylor is definitely in the suit”

“Ok but who is the bear! Taylor Swift”

“Ya’ll, I wIll NEVER NOT believe that bear was THE Taylor Swift”

“I think Taylor was in the bear costume!”

And Netflix may have hinted that they’re actually on to something…

After one fan commented that they should have put Taylor in the bear costume, the official Netflix account responded with just the eyes emoji:

Taylor also posted about the movie on her Instagram account when it came out, encouraging fans to go check it out and calling the sequel a “must watch” – while also using a honey emoji.

“Happy Gilmore 2 had me cackling and cheering the whole movie! An absolute must watch, 13/10, go watch it on Netflix as soon as humanly possible”

Of course she may have just been supporting her boyfriend and making a reference to his famous scene, but of course Swifties read it as another little Easter egg that she may have been inside the bear costume.

For his part, Adam Sandler had nothing but good things to say about Swift, but said that she wasn’t even asked to be in the movie:

“We didn’t want to bother Taylor. Just let Taylor entertain the world like she does.”

Maybe they didn’t even have to ask her though…The post Swifties Are Convinced That Taylor Swift Made A Cameo In ‘Happy Gilmore 2’ – And Netflix May Have Confirmed It first appeared on Whiskey Riff.
