Mikel Arteta has overseen three consecutive second place finishes in the Premier League as Arsenal head coach.

Manchester City and Liverpool have both beaten them to the coveted crown, although things could be very different this season.

Arsenal sit top of the table and a point ahead of holders Liverpool after spending over £250million on new signings in the summer.

And Campbell, who was part of the club’s last title-winning squad in 2004, has revealed how the Gunners can finally cross the line at the end of the season.

When asked by talkSPORT’s Ben Jacobs who he thinks are favourites for the title, the two-time Premier League champion said: “No one yet, no one.

Despite a 1-0 home loss to Bournemouth, Tottenham are third in the league and only two points behind the Gunners with seven matches played.

And although he didn’t outright suggest that Spurs could be in the title mix, Campbell is impressed with what he has seen from the club he controversially left 24 years ago.

“I think he’s made a really good, positive [start], a fresh approach to the game,” he said. “Came close against PSG [in the Super Cup final], just lost on penalties against them.

“Really top football, he’s playing with fresh eyes upon it, and maybe he’s doing something simple in the sense that [he’s] allowing players just to be a bit more free.

“Maybe he’s taking a bit more pressure on him and less pressure on the players. I think it’s been a great start for them. It’s early, who knows what’s going to happen, but the main thing is, it’s positive.”

Arsenal and Spurs meet for the first time this season on November 23 in a potential clash for the Premier League summit.
