Sammy Hagar to Release ‘Sammy Hagar & The Best of All Worlds Band – The Residency’ Live Album

Resident fancy car collector and Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee Sammy Hagar really does stay busy. With his restaurants, cool whips, and music, of course, this fool does not know how to sit his ass down. That’s okay though, since what he’s dishing out is always freshly served. This time, he’s dropping a live album filled with the best of his Las Vegas residency at Dolby Live at Park MGM.

Called Sammy Hagar & The Best of All Worlds Band – The Residency, the live album will feature 19 tracks of fierce fury, obviously including many deep cuts from his over two decade stint in Van Halen. He’s got some heavy hitters playing with him too as part of The Best of All Worlds band: Michael Anthony (bass, vocals), Joe Satriani (guitar), Kenny Aronoff (drums), and Rai Thistlethwayte (keyboards, vocals, guitar).

Its first track “Summer Nights (Live)” is already out, and pre-orders for the record, which is set to come out October 10, are available now via Big Machine Rock.

Hagar commented:

“‘Summer Nights’ was one of the first songs we wrote for the 5150 record, on our very first day in the studio. Eddie [Van Halen] played me that guitar riff and I just started singing ‘summer nights and my radio,’ and the rest of the lyrics just came out like a river of consciousness. I don’t think there’s a better theme song for a beautiful summer night, so it had to be the first track this summer from the live album.”
