Philadelphia Eagles Fan In The Middle Of Getting Arrested Hilariously Tells Reporter He’s A Fan Of His Work
It was a tough night for this Philadelphia Eagles fan, but a great night for this Philadelphia sports reporter. Sports have a way of bringing us all together. It was a tough night for this Philadelphia Eagles fan, but a great night for this Philadelphia sports reporter.
Sports have a way of bringing us all together. That’s why I’m such a big fan of really any sport out there, because there’s a unifying aspect that can only be rivaled by the power of music. And as this video below displays, even the darkest moments of one’s life have the ability to be lifted by sports fandom.
An NBC Sports Philadelphia reporter named Dave Zangaro is currently going viral, and it’s for the most “Philly Sports Fan” thing that you could imagine. Following an upset win by the New York Giants over the Philadelphia Eagles this past Thursday night, Zangaro was set up in front of a camera to give his post-game thoughts.
Meanwhile, a Philly sports fan in a Saquon Barkley jersey was being arrested, handcuffed, and led out of the stadium. He must have been upset about the Birds going down? That being said, the man’s handcuffs didn’t stop him from recognizing the Philadelphia sports reporter’s greatness as the police walked him by the live shot.
Dave Zangaro was very much caught off guard by the handcuffed man giving him a compliment, and decided to give the guy a shout out of his own while he talked about the incident on the Eagle Eye podcast:
“I want to give a shout out to a guy in a Saquon Barkley jersey. He had a rough end to his night, in handcuffs, getting walked by before my postgame hit. Big fan of me apparently, said he appreciates my work. So if you are listening or watching sir, I hope your night got better.”
I hope the handcuffed individual did figure out a way to watch the Eagle Eye podcast… possibly from the slammer?
And the video of the incident is absolute cinema. NBC Sports Philadelphia’s Dave Zangaro was trying to prepare to talk about the Eagles loss, and got interrupted when the die-hard, potentially-arrested Philly fan walked by and said this:
“Dave, I love your work!”
Hilarious.
Imagine having the wherewithal to be in the middle of one of the worst moments of your life (I’m assuming this Philly fan doesn’t get arrested all of the time) and still being able to compliment a sports reporter that you are a fan of. It’s a moment that Dave Zangaro won’t ever forget, and a video that people on social media are calling the “most Philly sports fan thing” ever:
“I guarantee his night did not get better.”
“You can’t get more Philly than that!”
“Philadelphia sports fans being Philadelphia sports fans.”
“It’s not an Eagles game if someone doesn’t leave in handcuffs.”
“Dave was absolutely bubbling after that compliment.”
Dave Zangaro should have been bubbling. He has every right to be. It’s not everyday you get nice words thrown your way from someone being escorted off the premises in handcuffs. You have to cherish those little moments, and that’s exactly what Dave was doing. The post Philadelphia Eagles Fan In The Middle Of Getting Arrested Hilariously Tells Reporter He’s A Fan Of His Work first appeared on Whiskey Riff.
