Personal terms agreed for Arsenal to sign Premier League winger – deal advancing

Arsenal have still only officially announced one signing this summer, but with pre-season on the doorstep, the expectation is that The Gunners will confirm several more in the coming weeks – and one potential deal just moved closer.

Arsenal have taken a key step towards bolstering their attacking options, having agreed personal terms with Chelsea winger Noni Madueke, according to David Ornstein.

The 23-year-old England international is open to the move, though no formal offer has been submitted to Chelsea yet. Madueke, valued at around £35million by Transfermarkt, is admired by Arsenal for his versatility and ability to operate on both flanks. His skillset offers Mikel Arteta a useful option as the club seeks to add depth and unpredictability in wide areas.

Madueke enjoyed a productive 2024/25 campaign at Stamford Bridge, scoring 11 goals and registering five assists in 45 appearances across all competitions, including the Club World Cup. Despite periods out through injury and tactical omissions by Enzo Maresca, he showed flashes of the explosive talent that first attracted Chelsea to him.

Arsenal’s growing interest in Madueke follows a summer of swift business between the two clubs. Kepa Arrizabalaga has already made the move across London after the Gunners triggered his £5million release clause. The strong relationship between Arsenal and Chelsea could facilitate further discussions should Arsenal formalise their interest.

The Gunners continue to assess their attacking targets, with Rodrygo also firmly on the radar. The Brazilian is seen as a marquee option, though any move for him would be significantly more expensive.

As well as Madueke and Rodrygo, Arsenal are monitoring Crystal Palace star Eberechi Eze (27) and Aston Villa’s Morgan Rogers (21), as they look to enhance squad depth and maintain tactical flexibility in the upcoming season.

Arsenal’s transfer strategy remains focused on adding final-third quality while maintaining squad harmony and financial balance. With pre-season approaching, decisions on Madueke and others could be finalised soon.
