Ozzy Osbourne Exhibition to Open in Birmingham Later This Month
In Ozzy we trust. The post Ozzy Osbourne Exhibition to Open in Birmingham Later This Month appeared first on MetalSucks.

Ozzy and Black Sabbath got big shit coming up. We all know about their “Back to the Beginning” homecoming (and final one, for the Oz man) show at Villa Park on July 5, but that simply is not enough for us. For what feels like the first time in ages we’ve gotten some good news: a free-to-see exhibition celebrating the Prince of Darkness himself, along with some ephemera from the OG Sabbath lineup.
Called “Working Class Hero,” the exhibit will have many of Ozzy’s accolades like Grammys, MTV Awards, and his honors with both the Hollywood Walk of Fame and Birmingham Walk of Stars. There’ll also be some of Ozzy’s platinum and gold records, which reflect the literal millions of shit this dude has sold throughout his long ass, legendary career.
That’s not all, folks. An outdoor Black Sabbath photography exhibition will be in Victoria Square featuring archived photos of all four of the founding members (Ozzy + guitarist Tony Iommi, bassist Geezer Butler and drummer Bill Ward, in case you needed a reminder), displays of their album artwork, and other fun little bits and bobs about the band. And, if this isn’t all enough (which it’s not), world-famous artist Mr. Murals made a 40-meter street long mural in tribute to the band, featuring the logo and incredibly realistic portraits of the members. This isn’t far from the other happenings, as it’s outside New Street Station, on Navigation Street.
Sharon, Ozzy’s wife, said:
“Ozzy is proof that no matter where you start in life, with passion, grit, and a little bit of madness, you can achieve the extraordinary. This exhibition is a thank you to the fans and the city of Birmingham — the place where it all began. We’re so proud to bring it home.”
Others have only had good to say as well. Sam Watson, who is the chair of Central BID Birmingham (who helped put together the whole shebang) said how “Ozzy Osbourne and BLACK SABBATH helped shape modern music and put Birmingham on the global cultural map. These exhibitions are a celebration of our city’s creativity, heritage and influence — and a chance for fans to walk in the footsteps of legends.”
Sara Wajid and Zak Mensah, co-CEOs of Birmingham Museums Trust said it best, though:
“We are incredibly proud to host this prestigious exhibition dedicated to Ozzy Osbourne — a true Brummie icon whose influence spans generations and continents. Celebrating the life and achievements of someone so deeply connected to the city aligns perfectly with our mission to reflect and share Birmingham’s rich and diverse cultural heritage. We can’t wait to welcome visitors from near and far.”
“Working Class Hero” will be at the Birmingham Museum & Art Gallery from June 25 to September 28, with the photo exhibition in Victoria Square running for about the same duration.
