Oliver Anthony To Release New Single “Scornful Woman” This Week, & Joe Rogan Is Already Loving It

I guess Joe Rogan gets to hear it first, huh?

Virginia native and viral “Rich Men North of Richmond” singer, Oliver Anthony, has a new single on the way, according to the great and powerful Joe Rogan, it’s a good one. Titled “Scornful Woman,” which I have to say sounds like an incredible title, the song is set for release on June 4th.

A recent episode of the podcast featured guest Cody Tucker, who is a podcast host and content creator most known for his viral history and pop culture shorts. Cody is the host of the Cody Tucker Show, which honestly seems like a platform where he mostly interviews comedians and adult film stars, but also recently released a book titled And Now You Know, which dives into the wacky history of pop culture.

Joe and Cody got to talking about the music industry, and how so much of it seems manufactured, and that’s when Joe revealed that he has heard the upcoming Oliver Anthony single, a guy who isn’t manufactured at all. Joe also praised Zach Bryan for his organic rise to fame:

“You got like your Tyler the creator type dudes, completely disconnected from that system. Makes his own music, he’s the creator of his own domain. You don’t need all those people, and so you have this weird thing happening now where you have a lot of astroturf stuff, a lot of stuff that’s just thrown out there to try to get people to… it sounds like stuff that people like and it’s created, but you still have a lot more opportunity for legit artists to just like Zack Bryan just emerged from like Tik Tok clips or whatever they were YouTube clips.”

Cody noted how there’s not a lot of people doing it that way anymore, to which Joe replied:

Yeah but when they break through it f***** means something. Like Oliver Anthony. Do you want to hear his new song and we can’t play it on the show? Everybody at home, we’ll be right back.”

They took a break to listen, and then continued the conversation, but safe to say both were blown away:

“That’s what I’m talking about… that exists right so in the middle of all this honey honey, sugar sugar s*** that you’re seeing today, there’s still Oliver Anthony. There’s still people out there that are legit. They’re legit. There’s a bunch, man. There’s a lot. There’s just a lot of noise.”

Oliver shared the clip, noting that the song was titled “Scornful Woman” and it would come out on June 4th.
