Morgan Wallen giving back to the community that’s overwhelmingly supported him.

One of the biggest festivals of the year that seems to really kickstart the summer is the Sand In My Boots festival. The event in Gulf Shores, Alabama was formerly known as the Hangout Music Festival – that is until country superstar Morgan Wallen announced he was taking over the festival in 2025, and changing the name to Sand In My Boots festival.

Wallen has really made the musical weekend his own, even traditionally bringing along a lot of his friends and favorite artists to join him on the lineup for the 3-day event. The multi-genre festival, which took place back in the middle of May, featured performances from everybody from Post Malone, Brooks & Dunn, Hardy, Riley Green to T-Pain, Diplo, Three 6 Mafia, Wiz Khalifa, and many more.

And because it’s Morgan Wallen… tickets sold out almost immediately after going on sale. He’s just got that kind of superstar, instant-sell-out appeal.

The “Last Night” singer also has the desire to give back, and does so through the Morgan Wallen Foundation. Wallen started the foundation to give back to the next generation, and describes their efforts – and why it exists – as follows:

“The Morgan Wallen Foundation combines my love of sports, music and community service. Without sports and music, I don’t know where I’d be. I know my life would look a whole lot different, so I want to give great opportunities to kids in these areas. In addition, MWF lends a helping hand when we see communities in need.”

They evidently saw a need in the Gulf Shores, Alabama area while they were there for the Sand in My Boots festival. And on July 9, the MWF followed through with their mission statement of supporting youth music programs by donating over $38,000 to the Gulf Shores High School Band.

Gulf Shores City Schools used their social media page to express their thanks:

“The Gulf Shores High School Band is honored to be named a recipient of the Morgan Wallen Foundation Music Education Grant, receiving $38,920 worth of new percussion instruments. The donation includes marimbas, vibraphones, and xylophones – critical additions that will elevate the program’s performance capabilities and support student growth.

This grant is part of the Foundations’ ‘Sand in my Boots Festival Give Back,’ following Morgan Wallen’s May festival in Gulf Shores. The grant is being administered by the Mr. Holland’s Opus Foundation. Gulf Shores High School is grateful for the Foundation’s investment in music education and the lasting impact it will have on students in the Gulf Shores City Schools community.”

What a nice gesture and donation by The Morgan Wallen Foundation.

And considering the grant was a part of the “Sand in My Boots Festival Give Back,” could that mean that the festival will be an annual outing for Morgan Wallen and his friends? Feels like it would be silly to create a whole sub-foundation element named after the festival, only to turn around and not do the Sand in My Boots Festival again.

So this news could be a win for both the Gulf Shores High School Band and the country music festival going community at large. The Gulf Shores youth got some instruments that will help them grow musically, and the Sand in My Boots festival could be here to stay? The post Morgan Wallen Foundation Gifts Gulf Shores High School Band With Nearly $40,000 In Instruments first appeared on Whiskey Riff.
