I don’t known if it beats the “Three For Dale” birthday party for Tex, but this is really cute too.
Country music superstar Luke Combs and his wife Nicole have been pulling out all of the stops for their little boys’ birthday parties, and they’re absolutely nailing it. The couple has two boys, Tex and Beau, and for Tex’s recent third birthday, they went all out with an epic Dale Earnhardt and racing themed party:
And for Beau’s second birthday, which they celebrated this past weekend, the Combs family tipped their cowboy hats to country legend Alan Jackson. Nicole shared some footage from the event, which did not lack in details and looked absolutely adorable.
The official theme was “Way Down Yonder On The Chatta-two-chee,” which is certainly fitting considering Beau’s dad is a country star himself and I’m sure has made certain Beau is a young Alan Jackson fan himself.
Of course, “Chattahoochee” was released to country radio in May of 1993 as the third single from Jackon’s 1992 A Lot About Livin’ (And a Little ’bout Love) album, and he received CMA awards for Single of the Year and Song of the Year. It peaked at #1 on the Billboard U.S. Hot Country Songs chart later in 1993, and the rest as they say, is glorious country music history.
In terms of song inspiration throughout the party, the event planners pained tiny little life jackets with the pattern to match Jackson’s famous life jacket in the music video, and they had tons of fishing games and references throughout in the napkins, plates and other things, as well.
From the red, blue and yellow colors to all of the sweet details like the red and white cowboy boots, it looked like a beautiful party and the perfect theme for a two-year old who probably cares more about the fishing elements and that kind of thing than the song right now.
Nicole clearly has a knack for party planning, though she also tagged the party planners that helped her bring it to life, and I’m sure Tex and Beau have some more epic parties in store in the future growing up with her as a mom.
Here’s some footage from that day:
“We partied way down yonder on the ‘Chatta-two-chee’ for Beau’s birthday!”
Luke recently honored his sons and his journey as a father thus far on his 2024 Fathers & Sons album, which was inspired by his feelings and experience as a dad and how much his little boys mean to him:
“I’ve been putting out music for over 10 years now. Over time, I’ve gotten a pretty good grasp on what I feel like my fans enjoy hearing. It’s crazy to think about changing that, but I’ve always wanted to grow up alongside my fan base. I’ve got two boys under two, so my life is dominated by the thoughts of being there for them. I want to be their dad first and foremost…
I just had to do this project, though, because being a dad to my boys has been the main thing on my mind lately. I don’t want to say this is a side project because it is me and my stuff, but what started as a crazy idea with only a few dad songs turned into me saying we should just record all of them as my next album.
I know it’s probably not what everyone expected my next album to be and I get that; I feel the same way in this not truly feeling like my next album. But being a dad is where life has taken me, and this album is a reflection of that in song form.”
Turn it up…
