Kenny Chesney Leaves Megan Moroney Speechless With Thoughtful Birthday Gift: “This Is The Best Birthday Ever”

How do you not love their friendship?

Last summer, Megan Moroney and Kenny Chesney formed a sweet friendship and mentorship while she supported him on the Sun Goes Down stadium tour. The tour was filled with memories, good times, and growth, and served as a transformative experience for Moroney.

After the tour, Chesney and Moroney stayed close, and she frequently goes to the tropics with him to write. Moroney also noted how incredible it was to learn from the country music veteran and took home many notes on how he’s kept his fan base so engaged over the years.

“I would say just really making it for the fans. You know, his live show is really a celebration of No Shoes Nation, and that’s how I want my shows to feel.”

Since the two have remained close, even releasing music together, Chesney showed how much he values Moroney with a recent gift he gave her.

Yesterday, October 9th, was Megan Moroney’s birthday (along with Gavin Adcock), and she did a pajama party dinner to celebrate the start of her 28th year around the sun. Moroney joked that since she plays dress-up all the time for her birthday, she wanted to dress down and keep the theme of her celebration cozy and comfy (however, the heels she’s sporting in the TikTok showing off her outfit look far from comfortable).

After dinner, Moroney hopped back online to share with fans that she was stunned by a gift one of the attendants of her birthday dinner gave her. The one and only Kenny Chesney gifted Moroney with a vintage Gibson guitar… but it’s not just any vintage Gibson guitar.

“Let me just wipe off the camera here, this is a really important video. So guys! Guys, it’s my 28th birthday, and Kenny… (waves Kenny in frame) Kenny got me a gift, and at first I’m like ‘Oh my gosh, what a beautiful guitar.’ 

And what it’s…1894, no, it’s 1984. It’s about to disintegrate.” 

Moroney laughs as she severely messed up the year the guitar was made.

“It’s from 1984. I’ve been wanting a vintage Gibson, so I was like, ‘Oh my god, this is such an amazing present. Thank you so much, Kenny.’ And then he told me to turn it around. This says, ‘To Megan, love Dolly Parton.’ And I… I’m speechless. This is a thank you to Kenny for this and a thank you to Dolly Parton herself. 

I don’t have much words and I’m not sure… So this is the best birthday ever!”

I’d be speechless getting a signed guitar from Miss Dolly, too! This gift is beyond thoughtful and shows how much Chesney adores Moroney as a human and musician.
