Kai Wachi Showcases His Range on Explosive New Album, "NEKROSIS"
The dubstep juggernaut fuses emotional depth with relentless sonic exploration in his first full-length project since 2019.

Baring both his soul and his undeniable production chops, Kai Wachi's sophomore album is finally here.
The Boise-based dubstep and bass music star proves he’s not interested in genre constraints with the new album, NEKROSIS. Instead, he's unapologetically telling a story and working hard to ensure that it hits just as hard emotionally as it does sonically.
Out now via Black Tiger Sex Machine's Kannibalen Records, NEKROSIS is his first full-length album since 2019's Demigod. The 13-track project builds on years of evolution, revealing a version of Wachi that's more versatile, emotive and technically refined than ever before.
"PRECIOUS" deliver's the album's opening remarks, pairing a towering vocal with an intense drum buildup that morphs into a barrage of trap- and dubstep-inspired chaos. Next up is "ILL," an infinitely danceable banger that laces 8-bit arpeggios through hefty dubstep drops.
NEKROSIS unearths its first emotional salvo with "Hold Onto Me," a vulnerable and uplifting melodic bass cut featuring Aaron Richards. "Not Giving Up" (with Point North) picks up where that track leaves off, but an unforgivingly heavy drop reminds us that Wachi's melancholy won't be exposed for too long before dragging you back into chaos.
"Like You" changes the pace once more, delivering a bass house-style beat complimented by Wachi's unique sound design. Finally, NEKROSIS reaches its conclusion with "Be There For You," a track featuring Isaac Mather that delivers the album's most poignant moments without compromising any of his patented bass drops.
