The latest target for the taxman seemed to be talkSPORT’s Deeney – but our very own Prince of Watford had a different idea by pro-actively following the social media star on Instagram. In a video released by the HMRC of football podcasts on Friday, Prince said: “Guys, welcome back to another edition of HMRC of Football podcast, and this is an emergency episode. It’s finally happened. “We are officially under surveillance. I repeat, we are officially under surveillance. However, he joked that the ‘mind games’ wouldn’t stop him from sending Deeney a tax bill. Prince added: “I thought, aha, if I follow him back and I message him and let him know that I’m going to do it, it might soften the blow because then he’s not caught by surprise, then he’s not angry, then he doesn’t bench press me, but then the unthinkable happened. “I went on his following just to check, and just like that, I’m gone. “He done unfollowed me. This man, Troy Deeney, did the social media equivalent of parking a black SUV outside my house just to let me know he’s watching me. “Let me tell you right now, this is mind games of the highest order, and it nearly worked, it nearly worked. Deeney revealed his social media manager was behind the accidental follow “But let me tell you something, Mr Deeney, yes, I’m gonna need security. I’m gonna need people with SIA badges. “I’m gonna need anyone with any kind of security or combat experience to protect me, but one way or another, the truth will come out, Mr Deeney, you will either get a rebate or a tax bill. “Because no one escapes the tax man, even if after it costs me my life,” Prince finished humorously with mock tears.
