Fit For An Autopsy, The Callous Daoboys and More Join Forces for ‘Free Palestine’ Charity Shirt

The horror that’s been unfolding in Gaza in real time over the last year and a half has been almost too much to bear. Tens of thousands have died in what can only be described as a genocide perpetrated by the Israeli government and military apparatus while the rest of the world are left to seemingly just watch helplessly. But leave it to a buncha metal bands to come together and leverage the power of a damn good piece of merch to raise money in support of a free Palestine.

He is Legend, Fit For An Autopsy, END, Dying Wish, Silent Planet, Stray From The Path, Great American Ghost, Greyhaven, Your Spirit Dies, The World is a Beautiful Place & I Am No Longer Afraid to Die, and The Callous Daoboys have all joined forces for a special t-shirt design in the hopes of donating profits to the humanitarian organization Medical Aid for Palestinians.

The shirt in question features some stark imagery on the front with the words “End Occupation, End Colonization, End Apartheid, End Genocide” repeated over and over on the bottom. The back features each band’s logo, with “FREE PALESTINE” written in huge bold letter on top.

The reason why this is such an important topic is because it transcends music. It all started on October 7, 2023, when Hamas militants crossed into Israel and killed approximately 1,300 Israelis (a majority of which were civilians). It was an abhorrent and horrific attack, but I’d venture to say that ever since that day, Israel’s response has been extreme.

Every day in Gaza is punctuated by Israeli violence against a largely civilian population. Innocents are subject to shelling, bombing, sniping, and the rounding up and killing of Palestinians at an almost biblical rate. Since October 2023, Israel has gone on to murder more than 55,000 Palestinians, wound more than 127,000, and displace nearly two million people from their homes.

The alleged war crimes are horrific, too. Israeli news outlet Haaretz reported on the fact that IDF soldiers were ordered to fire at unarmed civilians looking to get food from a known distribution site. That’s why the younger generations and bands alike are calling that shit out — they’re witnessing the largest case of genocide/ethnic cleansing/displacement/collective punishment taking place in real time.
