DJ DIESEL Asserts His Dominance With “M.D.E.,” a Nine-Track Bass Music Showcase

DJ DIESEL's reign over bass music continues with M.D.E (Most Dominant Ever), a nine-track barrage of dubstep, drum and bass, and trap hardwired for the mosh pit. Out now via Monstercat, the EP stakes his claim not just as a crowd-destroying headliner, but as a collaborative force in bass music’s new era.

From the jump, M.D.E. hits all the dubstep high notes with precision. The title track, a cinematic team-up with RZRKT, opens with ominous tension before detonating into a flurry of relentless dubstep drops. "Animal" follows with SampliFire and IVORY, where Shaq delivers a tight, paced rap verse before the production claws straight into tearout territory. The record never really lets up after that.

One standout single, "Damage," a collaboration with Virtual Riot, is the most unpredictable of the bunch. What starts as an unassuming acoustic guitar intro quickly veers off course as Shaq’s vocals sear through, and the track spirals into a drum and bass section that feels both polished and punishing.

"Run It" and "Fadeaway" raise the bass bar further. On the former, Diesel trades slick robotic synths and a scathing verse before letting the drop fly. On the latter, an earth-shattering link-up with Benda takes things to the edge with a thrashing build that gives way to a catastrophic drop. It’s arguably the heaviest-hitting track on the record.

"Bring the Pain" throws a techno curveball mid-track while the album ends with "Show Em," a finale that ties the whole project together. Shaq delivers one last warning: "We gonna show 'em how it’s done," over razor-cut sound design.

"This project is bigger than just music. M.D.E. is a celebration of the culture, of the moshpit, of the bass community," said Shaq. "Every artist on here brought the heat, and together we made something that hits hard and brings people together. That is what this scene is all about."

Beyond the sheer weight of the drops and the refined pressure and chaos that defines M.D.E., this EP is packed with chemistry: the product of real-life friendships and mutual respect between artists. It creates space for the next wave of bass producers to shine inside that arena. M.D.E. is a cross-stitch of bass music’s most impactful sounds, all strung together by someone who knows how to work a crowd and isn’t afraid to throw himself into the pit to prove it.

With the EP now out in the wild, Shaq continues to dominate 2025. His Bass All-Stars events are set to hit Florida, California, and Oregon. He recently kicked off a Las Vegas residency at The Wynn and will soon appear at iconic venues Pacha in Barcelona and Bootshaus in Germany.
