“Cussing Less, Drinking Less” — Miranda Lambert’s 2025 New Year’s Resolutions Are Absolutely Timeless

A timeless New Year’s resolution.

Last year, ahead of her performance on CBS Network’s New Year’s Eve Live: Nashville’s Big Bash, Miranda Lambert told Bunnie XO, podcaster and wife of Jelly Roll, that she had two very specific goals for 2025.

When Bunnie asked about resolutions that she tries to set for herself that are hard to stick to, Miranda joked that hers are usually “cussing less and drinking less,” but she never really follows through too much… and honestly, I’ve never felt so seen.

So many resolutions are a lot easier said than done, so if you’re someone who makes them and sticks to them every year, good for you… I don’t usually set resolutions, and if I ever have, they’ve been pretty simple and attainable.

Maybe that’s cheating, I don’t know, but like Miranda, I’ve learned to not really do it at all, especially something so out of the realm of possibilities that will cause me to later hate myself and wonder why I can’t follow through. She also explained that she now sets “intentions” as opposed to traditional “resolutions” so maybe that’s worth trying this year instead (though I probably, won’t honestly):

“Oh God. It’s usually cussing less, drinking less, less of everything. But, you know, I stopped setting resolutions, I set intentions now. Which is a little bit more doable, less scary.”

I thought the most relatable thing about Miranda was that she’s a self-proclaimed Miller Lite girl with “an RBF,” but luckily I was wrong.

We like to drink and cuss a little, and I personally think that adds to the charming personality, rather than taking away from it… you can always count on Miranda to keep it 100% real:

This year’s edition of CBS Network’s New Year’s Eve Live: Nashville’s Big Bash will include performers in Jason Aldean, Lainey Wilson, Bailey Zimmerman, Dierks Bentley, Brooks & Dunn, Rascal Flatts, Riley Green, Marcus King, Megan Moroney, Zach Top, Keith Urban, Gretchen Wilson, Stephen Wilson Jr., and Dwight Yoakam from venues and clubs across Nashville.

There will be a few other special appearances by other people, but if you’re looking for an alternative to the usual New Year’s Eve show, there should be some good stuff to watch if you’re staying in for the night.

The show will air live on Wednesday, December 31st at 8:00-10:00 PM, ET/PT and 10:30 PM-1:30 AM, ET/PT on the CBS Television Network, and it will also stream on Paramount+.

And if you’re going to actually be in Nashville for the holiday, there will be an in person watch party at Luke Combs’ Category 10 bar, where Dwight Yoakam will be performing throughout the evening, in addition to a performance from Marcus King. Much of the live show will take place at Nashville’s Bicentennial Capitol Mall State Park, and the event will air across multiple time zones, with the traditional countdown at midnight Eastern time. The Nashville Music Note Drop will happen on Central time.

Some of the performances will likely be pre-recorded, but if you’ll be in Music City for New Year’s Eve, there will be plenty of great live performances and a lot to see and do.

And if you’re not like me or Miranda Lambert, you still have time to set a New Year’s Resolution for 2026…

Here’s a little bit of “Living on the Run” from her New Year’s Eve performance last year:
