Between The Buried And Me Release New Single “Absent Thereafter”

They may be past their Dustie Waring affair, but the dudes in Between The Buried And Me aren’t done putting out new music. In fact, they’ve got a brand new track out today titled “Absent Thereafter” ahead of their forthcoming album The Blue Nowhere.

Featuring the type of progressive metal you’d expect from a band that’s been holding down that genre for a while now, you’ve got incredibly instrumental work that borders on the absolutely chaotic. It’s wild and spans a couple sonic ideas that really mesh together. Oh and it’s a 10 minute long opus, so you’d better strap down for this one.

Frontman Tommy Rogers said the song is a perfect snapshot of the band’s current sound:

“To me, ‘Absent Thereafter’ feels like the quintessential BTBAM song – fun, intense, spacy, and still fucking heavy. I like to think it takes the listener on an unexpected journey, with ear candy waiting around every corner. It’s a deeper dive into all of the dynamic places you’re taken within The Blue Nowhere.”
