The Netherlands international has since recovered from the operation. Timber featured in his side’s final two pre-season friendlies against Villarreal and Athletic Club. However, he starts on the bench for the trip to Manchester United on Sunday. Where did Timber go on holiday? Ahead of the match, Timber lifted the lid on his summer, explaining: “I had an ankle operation at the end of the season. “I had to take something out that was bothering me for a long time. I feel good now. “During the summer, I went to a lot of nice places. At the same time I was doing rehab. “I have been to Turkey and Curacao, where my mum is from. I went to Miami for a couple of days and Marbella. It was good. “And I went to Asia with the club, of course. I have seen the whole world in two months! “I had someone with me from the club helping me with my recovery. I had more places I wanted to go to, but the club said: ‘That is too much!'” GettyTimber has returned to fitness in time for the new Premier League campaign[/caption] GettyThe Dutch international will start on the bench against United[/caption] Timber has made 51 appearances for Arsenal since signing from Ajax in 2023. His debut was ended abruptly, though, after tearing his anterior cruciate ligament. The 24-year-old subsequently missed the rest of the campaign due to the injury. However, he has since gone on to score twice and provide four assists for the club. Last term saw Timber enjoy an improved injury record, with his longest absence during October caused by a muscle injury. He is joined on the bench at Old Trafford by three of Mikel Arteta’s summer signings. Kepa Arrizabalaga, Cristhian Mosquera and Noni Madueke are all amongst the substitutes. Meanwhile, debutants Martin Zubimendi and Viktor Gyokeres start for the visitors.
