Watching woke celebrities pander and virtue signal, basking in the glow of their own self-righteousness, lecturing the everyday American people wo are watching at home about their various social causes… forget it. Of course, we all remember Ricky Gervais’ 2020 Golden Globes monologue, at the peak of the woke insanity. It’s arguably the best awards show monologue of all time, and he absolutely nailed it at the end:
“If you do win an award tonight, don’t use it as a platform to make a political speech, all right? You’re in no position to lecture the public about anything. You know nothing about the real world, most of you spent less time in school than Greta Thunberg. If you win, come up, accept your little award, thank your agent and your God and f*** off. Ok? It’s already three hours long.”
