Lane Kiffin is one of a kind.
As somebody who doesn’t have any allegiance to any of the teams in the SEC, it’s hard not to root for Ole Miss head coach Lane Kiffin, and not because of anything the Rebels do on the field.
From DM’ing Alabama student Sydney Thomas after she served as the ring girl for the Jake Paul/Mike Tyson fight last year, to his Twitter trolling, to the awkwardly hilarious videos he does with his daughter Landry on TikTok, Kiffin is a little bit of an odd duck but he’s just an endless source of entertainment.
And he was back at it again earlier this week.
On Monday, Landry Kiffin hard launched her relationship with LSU linebacker Whit Weeks by including him in one of her Instagram posts. And of course, it wasn’t necessarily the relationship that was so notable but the timing, with Ole Miss taking on LSU this weekend in Oxford.
Suddenly, it’s a house divided situation, as this social media user pointed out:
“Landry Kiffin announcing her relationship with an LSU linebacker the week of game day is a crazy move. The Kiffin household must be in shambles. Wreaks of one thing: the over.”
And Kiffin was quick to chime in on the relationship, confirming that fans should in fact take the over as he planned to try his best to run up points on his daughter’s boyfriend.
“Take the over.”
Take the over

Now, ahead of the game Landry Kiffin confirmed that she would still be cheering for Ole Miss today, and was spotted on the Rebels sideline celebrating during the game.
Of course the announcers couldn’t help but mentioning the relationship every time Weeks was on the field, revealing that Ole Miss had also recruited Weeks out of high school and that Lane had called his buddy Kirby Smart, the head coach of Georgia, for intel on her daughter’s boyfriend.
And Weeks was also spotted blowing chunks on the field during the game, leading many to question whether the Kiffin family had tried to sabotage him…
But at the end of the day, Ole Miss took care of business, beating Brian Kelly’s LSU team 24-19. And after the game, Kiffin immediately began looking for his daughter’s boyfriend to do some trolling:
“I’m looking for Whit right now to see if we covered the over.”
Never change, Lane Kiffin.
For anyone curious, the line for the game was at 57.5 points, so no, they didn’t cover the over. But the final spread was Ole Miss -1.5, so they at least covered the spread – and will no doubt move up from their #13 spot in the rankings after beating the #4-ranked Tigers.
