Metallica Blast Their ‘Load’ Box Set All Over the Internet
Yeah, it's hard not to make a jizz joke about this. The post Metallica Blast Their ‘Load’ Box Set All Over the Internet appeared first on MetalSucks.

Today’s the day for Metallica fans looking to relive the early to mid-90s, as the remastered box set of Load dropped today. And while the best package remains the band’s physical offering of the box set, those of us not willing to spend an exorbitant amount of cash for that whole thing can still enjoy the music, since the band posted it all online anyway. And given how they vehemently fought Napster back in the day, there’s a certain level of irony with that being the case.
Remastered by Reuben Cohen at Lurssen Mastering and produced by Greg Fidelman, the box set features complete remastered versions of the album’s original 14 tracks. In addition, the box set includes bonus tracks, demos, live recordings, and even little riff snippets so you can hear how the band iterated over time. All of that’s available on YouTube and the various popular digital streaming services.
Aside from all the music, if you wanted to actually spend the money and get that huge Load set added to your collection, you’d get the following features and add-ons:
- Load (Remastered) on 180-gram double LP and CD
- “Mama Said” picture disc
- Three live LPs
- 15 CDs
- Four DVDs featuring unreleased content (live shows, rough mixes, demos, etc)
- MP3 download card of all audio
- Two tour laminates
- 11″ x 17″ Lollapalooza poster
- Pushead patch
- 8″ x 10″ Rolling Stone Magazine cover print
- Five-pack of guitar/bass picks
- Pack of 14 Rorschach Test cards
- Lyric folder and sheets
- 128-page hardcover book with never-before-seen photos + stories from those who were there
If the box set is too much, they also offer a 3CD version with a lot less of the extra add ons, as well as a regular CD version and a vinyl version if you just want the music and nothing else.
And if that’s all not enough and you’d rather experience them live, then I’ve also got good news, as they never stop touring. You can find the full list of dates below.
