Reijnders has put pen to paper on a five-year deal at the Etihad – and has been signed in time to compete in the upcoming FIFA Club World Cup, which starts this weekend. Speaking of his move, the Netherlands international told City’s website: “I am ecstatic to be signing for Manchester City. “City are one of the biggest teams in the world, with the best coach, world-class players and outstanding facilities. “Under Pep Guardiola, City have won so many titles, and I want to help keep that going with a lot more success in the coming years.   “It is also a dream come true to play in the Premier League. “This league has seen many of the best Dutch players perform through the years and it’s an inspiration to follow in their footsteps.   “I am really looking forward to getting going, meeting the other players and showing the Manchester City fans what I can do.” Reijnders has become City’s fourth signing of the summer already with Pep Guardiola‘s side determined for a better 2025/26 season. After winning the Premier League in four consecutive campaigns, the Citizens finished third behind Liverpool and Arsenal in the 2024/25 term. Reijnders spent two seasons at the San Siro – scoring 19 goals in 104 games for MilanGetty That was in addition to losing in the FA Cup final to Crystal Palace, crashing out in the fourth round of the Carabao Cup and being dumped out of the Champions League knockout play-off phase by Real Madrid. City have since responded by splashing out over £116m on four new faces – starting off with the arrival of left-back Rayan Ait-Nouri from Wolves in a deal rising to £36.3m. Meanwhile City have also brought in French playmaker Rayan Cherki from Lyon for £34m. And they have also snapped up goalkeeper Marcus Bettinelli from Chelsea for a small nominal fee.
