There were concerning scenes at Selhurst Park with Crystal Palace’s match against Liverpool facing a lengthy delay. There were just 12 minutes on the clock when players became concerned by an apparent medical emergency in the crowd. Liverpool have a free kick when play does restart around about 22 yards out. “But this delay has gone on for some time and obviously our thoughts go out to whichever Supporter it is that is clearly in some trouble over on the far side.” talkSPORT’s Lianne Sanderson commented: “Everybody’s over there, the Liverpool players signaled over to that far side. “Hopefully the fan’s going to be okay. It’s been a long stoppage though, hasn’t it?” Crook finished: “Yeah, I’m just looking to see if the referee might actually consider taking the players off the pitch, at the moment that isn’t going to happen.” Managers Arne Slot and Oliver Glasner were seen discussing the situation on the touchline, while TV cameras pictured Palace medics walking back across the pitch, allowing the game to resume around seven minutes after the initial stoppage.
