Post Malone Tried To Do A Backflip Off A Chair During A Live Stream & It Went Horribly Wrong
Probably not gonna be making the Olympic team.
Post Malone had a busy 2025, touring North America and Europe on his The BIG ASS Stadium Tour along with Jelly Roll and Sierra Ferrell. And it sounds like he’s also been putting in quite a bit of time in the studio, revealing during a livestream earlier this week that he hopes to release two new albums in 2026:
“Chances are, chat, we are getting two albums in 2026. If everything goes my way.”
So I guess we’ll have to excuse him for not having much time to work on his gymnastics routine this year.
During that same livestream with streamer xQc, Posty (whose real name is Austin Post) decided to do a backflip off of a chair in his living room, though he did warn viewers before he tried it:
“This is just an attempt.”
Well with his cigarette in hand, Post climbed up on the desk chair…and then promptly fell down and landed hard on the ground.
Luckily he was able to laugh it off, though it sounds like he might have felt it the next morning:
“I actually hurt my wrist… Chat, I really did hurt my wrist. This is what I do for y’all.”

Yeah, that’s gonna leave a mark. Maybe don’t try that one on stage.
As for what he’s been working on in the studio, guitar player extraordinaire and producer Derek Wells revealed that Posty’s next project will feature Post Malone stepping WAY over the line between pop music and country music… deep into the heart of country music while channeling some George Jones and ’80s George Strait. According to Wells:
“There’s also more fiddle, pedal steel, guitar solos. Where we started as two feet over the line into traditional country on ‘F-1 Trillion’ has turned into head, chest, shoulders and feet across the line on where we’re headed with the next batch of songs.”
In an interview with The Tennessean this past summer, Post discussed how he’s carefully treated his venture into country music, and appreciated the acceptance he’s received:
“I want to make sure I do things with respect. I feel honored that everyone has been accepting and patient with me.”
That seems to be the big difference between the reception that Post has received in country music, which has welcomed him with open arms, and the reception for…well, some other artists. There’s no denying that Post Malone has fully embraced country music, showing respect for the classics and working with many of the top artists, songwriters and musicians in the genre.
It’s clear that Post truly appreciates country, and wants to honor country music and its history instead of trying to come in and change it – or worse, bash others along the way.
I’m usually pretty skeptical of “pop” artists coming into country, because most of the time it’s just a thinly-veiled attempt at trying to either make a point or in the case of some artists whose careers have slowed down, capitalize on the popularity of country music.
Posty’s done it the right way though, and it sounds like he’s here to stay…as long as he doesn’t hurt himself doing too many backflips.
