Love him or hate him, there’s absolutely no denying that Zach Bryan is nothing short of a powerhouse in country music.

After recently receiving a staggering 58 Recording Industry of America (RIAA) certifications back on July 18th, which prompted him to become the eighth highest-selling country artist of all time, the “I Remember Everything” singer has yet another impressive achievement under his belt.

As reported by Billboard Charts on X, yesterday, Bryan’s breakout single, “Something in the Orange,” spent its 143rd week on Billboard’s Streaming Songs chart, breaking the record previously held by Post Malone and Swae Lee’s 2019 smash hit, “Sunflower.”

For those unfamiliar with the Streaming Songs chart, it’s an all-genre one that is focused solely on data from streaming services such as Spotify and Apple Music, unlike popular charts such as the Hot 100 and Hot Country Songs, which also factor in radio play.

“Something in the Orange,” written independently by Bryan, was first released on April 22, 2022, and has been one of the most successful country songs released so far this decade. Beyond its impressive 12x platinum certification from the RIAA, which became just the 15th country song ever to reach diamond status, the track also became just the 10th country song ever to reach 1 billion streams on Spotify back in September 2024. Additionally, it was recently named the 23rd most-streamed country song ever on Apple Music (#375 overall).

Currently, “Something in the Orange” has a staggering 1.33 billion streams on Spotify alone. Diving deeper into the numbers, it has been streamed approximately 1,109,596 times per day just on Spotify. This, of course, does not factor in the incredible numbers the song is putting up on other streaming platforms such as Apple Music and Amazon Music.

This isn’t the first Billboard record that “Something Tn The Orange” has broken, however. Back in July 2023, it passed Carrie Underwood’s iconic 2006 single, “Before He Cheats,” as the longest charting country song on the Hot 100 (64 weeks). As it currently stands, Bryan still owns the record at 66 weeks; however, Post Malone and Morgan Wallen’s “I Had Some Help” is threatening to pass it with 64 weeks as of today.

If nothing else, this once again proves how much of Bryan’s success has been understated lately, mainly due to the countless number of controversies he’s gotten himself into over the past few years. Despite bad press, public breakups and everything else that comes with the Zach Bryan experience, it’s becoming increasingly clear that he’s simply a giant in the music industry. The fact that he can dethrone the likes of Morgan Wallen, Post Malone and more is incredibly telling of not only his success but also his longevity.

And remember, he’s largely done it completely outside of the country music industry. He doesn’t get much radio play, he rarely does any media interviews, he doesn’t participate in the awards shows, and while he is signed to Warner Records, by and large, he operates like an independent artist. It makes his success that much more impressive.

In other news, Bryan also has the highly anticipated collaboration with Kings of Leon, “Bowery,” releasing THIS Friday, and judging by the teaser, it’s going to be another cross-genre hit for the Oklahoma native.
