Report: Bayern Munich lining up surprise move for Arsenal forward

Leandro Trossard could be set for an Arsenal exit this summer, with Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich the latest club reportedly keen on securing his signature.

The Belgian winger, who has impressed in flashes since joining from Brighton in January 2023, is now attracting serious interest from across Europe and beyond – with potential suitors including Bayern, Fenerbahce, and clubs in Saudi Arabia.

According to Bayern Insider, Bayern Munich are “desperate to bolster their wide areas” after the summer departures of Leroy Sane, Thomas Müller and Mathys Tel. The situation has been made even more urgent by the news that Jamal Musiala is expected to be sidelined for four to five months with injury. The German champions have made Liverpool’s Luis Diaz their top target, but with their initial bid for the Colombian winger rejected, Bayern are exploring alternatives – and Trossard is now firmly on their radar.

Christian Falk reports that Trossard is “one of the candidates” for Bayern if they fail to land Diaz. The 30-year-old Belgium international, capped 44 times, could become the club’s “next big signing” if a deal gathers momentum. Bayern have also been linked with Gabriel Martinelli this summer, suggesting they are monitoring Arsenal’s attacking options closely.

While Trossard played a valuable role for Arsenal last season – often stepping up with important goals and assists – the club may be open to selling him for the right fee. Guardian Sport recently reported that Arsenal are considering player sales this summer to help balance the squad and reinvest, and Trossard is believed to be among those available at the right price.

Trossard is entering the final year of his contract, and a fee of around £20million could be enough to tempt Arsenal into a deal. Interest from Fenerbahce and Saudi Arabia is also intensifying – and Trossard has reportedly already agreed personal terms with Fenerbahce on a three-year deal.

If Trossard were to be sold, it could open the door to another attacking arrival. One name who continues to be linked is Eberechi Eze, who could add depth to the left and central areas – that remains one to watch.
