If there’s one thing that’s certain almost every year, it’s that our friends over at Decibel Magazine are bound to put on a hell of a show. Whether it’s their annual Metal & Beer fest in Denver or Philly, the lineups they procure and the bands they get regularly kick ass. Earlier today, they continued that trend by announcing the bands that’ll play their first-ever all-ages Metal & Beer Fest in Philly next year.
Set to take place on May 2 and 3 at the Fillmore in Philly, the fest will feature Municipal Waste and Power Trip as their headliners. Yes, you read that right — they’re going full crossover on this one. This will not only be Power Trip’s first show back in the City of Brotherly Love in seven years, but it’s also going to be the show that Municipal Waste plays the entirety of The Art Of Partying during their set.
But those aren’t the only special sets planned for the fest. Kylesa is playing a reunion show, Cro-Mags will be playing a special The Age Of Quarrel set, and Cryptopsy will play a None So Vile set. The full list of bands set to play the fest so far are as follows:
- Power Trip
- Municipal Waste (special The Art Of Partying set)
- Kylesa
- Cro-Mags (special The Age Of Quarrel set)
- Cryptopsy (special None So Vile set)
- Necrot
- Fulci
- Haggus
- No/Más
- Blood Monolith
As for the other half of the festival — the beer — this year’s fest will feature sudsy beverages from a large lineup of breweries from around the country. Here’s what Decibel had to say about that:
“This year’s beer lineup is once again presented by American craft beer vanguard 3 Floyds Brewing (IN) and includes featured breweries WarPigs Brewing (IN), XUL Beer Company (TN), Magnanimous Brewing (FL), New Trail Brewing Co. (PA), Nepenthe Brewing Co. (MD), Little Cottage Brewery (GA), Bear Cult Brewing Co. (DE) and flagship meadery Brimming Horn Meadery (DE). More breweries will be announced soon!”
You absolutely do not want to miss this if you can make it to Philly. Tickets will go on sale this Friday at 10 a.m. ET.
