A new festival launching in Iceland will bring electronic artists together with engineers and explorers from NASA, SpaceX, Blue Origin and more for a four-day event timed to coincide with a total solar eclipse visible from the remote Snæfellsnes Peninsula.

Set for August 12-15, 2026, Iceland Eclipse Festival promises to unite industry luminaries with celestial wonder in one of Earth’s most dramatic landscapes. The four-day event will take place during the rare eclipse, offering attendees two minutes of complete darkness in a cosmic event that won’t return to Iceland until 2196.

The ambitious festival is only selling tickets to a total of 3,333 participants, according to a press release.

Iceland Eclipse’s organizers are positioning the festival as a summit with interdisciplinary programming across science, technology, art and consciousness, assembling an impressive roster of speakers and experts from major space agencies and tech companies. Representatives from NASA, ESA, SpaceX, Blue Origin and Virgin Galactic will join thought leaders in AI ethics, digital art and regenerative living. The event also features voices from the UN, Unify.org and various sustainability organizations.

On the music side, the lineup is topped by Grammy-nominated dance music trio Meduza, who will perform Meduza³, a new live production they say is designed to “reinvent the DJ performance experience.” Elsewhere on the billing are Nightmares on Wax, Booka Shade and Dave Clarke, among other influential electronic artists. Local talent includes beloved singer-songwriter Emilíana Torrini, Eurovision standout Daði Freyr and the pioneering Icelandic collective GusGus.

Iceland Eclipse’s wellness programming, developed with partner Cosmic Pineapple, goes far beyond the typical perks of a destination music festival. Attendees of the “CONNECT” program can participate in daily yoga sessions, breathwork workshops and nightly fire ceremonies led by Icelandic “wisdom keepers” alongside international medicine musicians.

The Icelandic Chill-Out Lounge by Mama Reykjavík, one of the region’s top restaurants, will serve plant-based cuisine accompanied by acoustic performances and DJ sets, providing a space for networking away from the main stages.

A separate “EXPLORE” program, organized with local collective ReWilding Iceland, promises hands-on experiences with Iceland’s landscape through guided expeditions, sauna rituals and cold plunges. Participants will hear from Ragnhildur Sigurðardóttir, who oversees conservation efforts at Snæfellsjökull National Park, as well as local artist Kári Viðarsson, who will discuss Hellissandur’s mural scene.
