These Oklahoma and Louisiana girls know how to get down.
Lainey Wilson is currently on her Whirlwind World Tour, bringing her Bell Bottom Country to a city near you.
While Wilson is known for putting on one hell of a show, keeping the energy high from the moment she steps on stage, belting out her lyrics while running around and engaging with fans, she’s also great at highlighting her supporting acts.
The sad truth is that many fans don’t get to the venue until it’s closer in time for Wilson to take the stage, but with special guests like Muscadine Bloodline, Ernest, Zach Meadows, Kaitlin Butts, Drake Milligan, and Lauren Watkins on the road with her, this is your sign to get there early.
BUT if you don’t, there is a good chance that Wilson will bring out one of her opening acts to sing a ditty or two in front of the packed house. During a recent show in Albuquerque, New Mexico, Wilson brought Kaitlin Butts back to the stage to pay some homage to her home stage. The “You Ain’t Gotta Die (To Be Dead To Me)” singer hails from Oklahoma, which makes the selection of “Tulsa Time” perfect for their duet.
Written by Danny Flowers, “Tulsa Time” was recorded by Don Williams as the lead single from his 1978 album Expressions. “Tulsa Time” is a tried-and-true classic that has been covered by many artists, including Sturgill Simpson, the Pistol Annies, Sunny Sweeney, and fellow Oklahoma Red Dirt band Jason Boland & the Stragglers.
The ladies are getting their groove on while performing this classic, and they both crushed it vocally. Lainey Wilson fans who were not yet familiar with Kaitlin Butts left a new fan after she blew the roof off the place with her parts throughout the duet.
